The analyst for bio AI.
bio.rodeo is an opinionated guide to the fast-moving world of biological foundation models — protein folding, genomics, single-cell, and beyond. We rank and review the field with expertise and a point of view. No hype, just honest analysis.
Why this exists
New biological foundation models ship every week, each with bold claims and a fresh leaderboard. Sorting the genuinely useful from the merely impressive is hard — and most directories just aggregate links without a point of view.
bio.rodeo treats the field like a rodeo: powerful, untamed competitors judged by experts under a clear, consistent scoring system. We track who built what, how open it is, how it's used, and how it stacks up — so you can make decisions without wading through a hundred preprints.
Who's behind this
bio.rodeo is built and maintained by Justin Kiggins, founder of Pulsatance. Justin has spent 20+ years working at the intersection of science, technology, and public benefit — shaping product, grantmaking, and research strategy at the Chan Zuckerberg Initiative, scaling open data efforts at the Allen Institute, and training as a neuroscientist at UC San Diego. He has founded nonprofits and startups across the life sciences, and works comfortably between the lab, the boardroom, and the codebase.
Through Pulsatance, Justin helps life sciences organizations place bets they won't regret — pairing technical judgment with scientific context and an operator's instinct. bio.rodeo is where that perspective on bio AI plays out in public. You can reach him at justin@pulsatance.ai or on LinkedIn.
