Overview

Profluent is a protein-engineering lab and the first-party source for the ProGen3 protein language model family and OpenCRISPR, an AI-designed gene editor. Teams looking to generate novel protein sequences or run language-model-designed CRISPR systems can access these models through Profluent's API for protein design, sequence generation, and programmable gene editing.

  • ProGen3 — a family of sparse mixture-of-experts autoregressive protein language models pretrained on 1.5 trillion amino acid tokens, built for de novo protein design and controllable sequence generation. Available for hosted inference and fine-tuning through Profluent's API.

API access and fine-tuning on Profluent

Profluent's API provides hosted inference for both ProGen3 and OpenCRISPR, plus fine-tuning for ProGen3 so teams can condition generation on their own protein families, functions, or design objectives. This is aimed at protein engineers, enzyme and biologics designers, and gene-editing researchers who want managed access to generative protein models and designed editors without standing up their own inference infrastructure. Where open weights exist, they live on Hugging Face for self-hosting alongside the API.
